Abstract
A review by artist and assistant professor of fine art, Bjarki Bragason, on Claire Reddleman's 2018 book; Cartographic Abstraction in Contemporary Art: Seeing with maps. Reddleman proposes a system of critique through an understanding of the history of cartography applied in a dissemination of works by five contemporary artists. In his review, Bjarki discusses the book from the point of view of an artist concerned with how artists interpret and represent the gaze on land and people.
