Martine Drozdz is an empirical social geographer, in her work so far she has sough to measure and qualify the spatial dimensions and features of urban development in various contexts. For her PhD and in recent publications she studied urban regeneration policies and practices in London with a focus on measuring and qualifying their effects on local communities and neighbourhoods. She is interested in arguments challenging the dominant narratives of neo-liberalisation and the shrinking of the state in order to provide richer accounts of the contemporary urban condition.
