Laura Kim Meckling is a Korean-American, multi-media artist, born in Seoul, Korea. She lives and works in the United States. She exists in the liminal zone of an inherent cultural border that cannot be crossed. Her work utilizes walking as a method to investigate physical and psychological borders. She received her MFA in Studio Art at the University of South Florida, recipient of the William and Nancy Oliver fellowship. She received her BA in Art from Florida International University in Miami, Florida. She studied photography and video art at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, Czech Republic in the Film and Motion Picture Program (FAMU).
